Nanopumps at TSU - Job Opportunities

Дата публикации: May 04, 2014 10:49:53 AM

In the realm of the new Megagrant project "Nanopumps", we study the function of bacterial ion pumps, using nanodiscs. Nanodiscs are small, artificial membrane patches, which are held together by a protein belt. Purified ion pumps can be incorporated into nanodiscs in vitro to study their function. For a review, see Bayburt TH, Sligar SG. 2010. Membrane protein assembly into Nanodiscs. FEBS Lett. 584:1721-1727 (pdf available upon request).

Positions are available for postdocs, or students with a masters degree for PhD work. Working-knowledge of English is required. Experience in protein expression and purification and/or acquaintance with gene cloning are an advantage. Salaries are negotiable.
